I used to show this film to my high school students - though they were mostly Latino, it was well liked. Below, a poem written by one of them - a student I thought mostly indifferent to school, but the theme of rebellion is always important.
F*U@K THE RULES
They say to stop we start to run
They tell us don't we do
They tell us read we say F-K you
Tell tell us to run we stop
They scream in our face we pop the gun
The want quiet we scream
They want attention
We dream
The lock us up, think they got us caught
They ask what's next
We say "Whaddya got?"
