Raja Ampat, Scorpion Fish (Day 6, 10-28)

ALJUY ISLAND

The morning boat ride permitted us a beautiful view of a beach kingfisher. Another day of clouds and murky water, lots of sightings but fatigue again and in the poor afternoon conditions I took another nap. Ron's photos for the day:
Bennett's Butterfly fish

black-backed butterfly fish?

Small scale scorpion fish - RL's flash illuminates it's colors, but I promise you, their camouflage on the coral on which the lay in wait is very complete and other divers had to point until I saw the slight irregularities of texture, color, and outline which revealed the fish

Spine-cheeked anemone fish - one of several familiar to us damselfish from the Disney film - they are so bright, hiding in the wormy swaying anemones

Black-spotted box fish - these are very kawaii (cute) and look very cuddly - slow swimmers

A fine photo of a Margined Coralfish - such cheerful presence on the reef

Ocellate Butterfly Fish

Oval-Spot Butterfly Fish

My best photo of the day, I loved the clarity wonderful greenish light.
